American Legion Post 342 minutes

A collection of meeting minutes from 1919 through 1927 of the William Clinton Story American Legion Post 342. William Clinton Story (1892-1918) was a 1908 graduate of Freeport High School, where he was salutatorian. He graduated from Princeton in 1913 with honors. When the United States entered World War I, he enlisted with the hopes of becoming an aviator. He died near Memphis, Tennessee, during a training flight. The William Clinton Story Post was named in his honor.

The Freeport Memorial Library Board of Trustees governs the Library. The Board consists of five members of the community appointed by the School Board for a term of five years. In 2006, the library received a NYS Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund (LGRMIF) grant to microfilm and digitize the board minutes from 1927 to current.
